In high school, it is important to budget your time and try new things to see what you like. Explore a wide variety of clubs and then narrow down what you like. Make sure to start on your essays early in order to reduce stress. For the “Why are you applying here?” essay question, I would recommend researching the school’s specific programs, classes, and clubs. Interviews are very similar to this essay question, where it is important to know the college well. For letters of recommendation, choose teachers who know you well and who you know well. Don’t ask too many teachers, read over the letters if you can, and don’t be afraid to ask for improvements.
